Things You'll Need:
- Help and support from family and friends
-
Step 1
First, if you find yourself lethargic, instead of chewing yourself out for not getting up and accomplishing all that you think you should, give yourself a pep talk. Instead of using words in your head like, "get off the couch", "get yourself together", "what's wrong with you?" "get over it already!", use words like, "you can do it", "I believe in you", "I know you're not up to it - but let's give it a go anyway." Use positive words to get yourself going. You will surprise yourself how uplifting these will be.
-
Step 2
If there is a project that you have been putting off doing, MAKE yourself, at the least, start at the beginning of the project and tell yourself "I will get just so much accomplished today" and get that much done. Then, after you finish that much, tell yourself "I bet I could do a little more" then do a little more. You will find that you have found more energy that you didn't realize you had, and maybe even finish that project completely! Having finished one project, continue telling yourself "I can do just one more thing" and then, "just one more thing" and continuing to tell yourself non-destructive words, can really be energizing. Accomplishing tasks, even very small ones, can be extremely motivating! This can be difficult, but sometimes you just have to absolutely push yourself into energy and motivation!
-
Step 3
Make yourself get up and get moving! Excersise is a great energizer. Even if it's the last thing you want to do, at least do a few stretches. Just stretching can relieve stress and chronic pain in places like the back and neck.
-
Step 4
Have fun with your family and friendsWith the weather getting warmer, get outdoors and have some fun with your family! Just simple things like blowing bubbles and chasing them and writing with chalk on the driveway with your little ones can be both fun and energizing. Go to the park and fly a kite or play tag on the playground equipment with your kids. Not only will this get the whole family out and exercising and but your kids will think you're the best parent ever!
