Things You'll Need:
- garden gloves
- grosgrain ribbon - one inch wide, 36 inches long for each color.
- 5 buttons
- craft paint and stencil
- nylon string or ribbon
- thread and sewing needle
-
Step 1
garden glove with flowersMake a garden gloves windsock by first purchasing a set of garden gloves at any hardware store, gardening center, or variety stores such as Walmart or the Dollar Store. Light colors with colored cuffs give the added ability to personalize with a stencil or other artwork of choice.
Alternatively, using pre-printed garden gloves would complete your windsock project even more quickly. -
Step 2
Add ribbon and buttonsFold the corners of each strip of ribbon to make a point as shown in the photo. Add to the ends of each of the glove fingers. Place the button of choice over the ribbon and stitch into place.
-
Step 3
Add string to hangInsert nylon, or other type, string into cuff to hang garden gloves windsock. Nylon is the sturdiest option and can be found in craft stores, or fishing departments.

on 7/3/2009 Very easy, and I love the theme: garden gloves in your garden. I wouldn't even need to buy any. I have some in my garage that started to fray, but aren't dirty. 5*

on 7/3/2009 What a fun idea, to make a windsock with streamers from a garden glove. Sounds easy to do.

on 6/11/2009 I agree with Jolocol. This is something kids can make to give to their Moms.
