Old School Friends Are Priceless and Old School Reunions can lead to many opportunities for your future.

So you think your friends from elementary school, high school, and college friends are friends from the past and should stay in the past? Think again, your old school friends hold priceless memories and information and contacts that can be unlocked by going to the old school reunions that are more popular now than ever thanks to Face book, myspace and many other popular sites where it is easy to find friends who you thought were long gone.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Willingness to reconnect
  • Business Cards
  • Notepad and Pen
  1. Step 1

If you are hesitant to attend an old school reunion, remember these friends or bullies from the past may just have the right connections now as adults that can help along on your path to career success. Old school reunions are a great way to network as I discovered not too long ago that these friends are more than willing to help an old friend.

  2. Step 2

Before your first impulse is to ignore that invite to attend an elementary or high school reunion, remember it is an invitation to network with people that now may be CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, respected authorities in a certain field and have very many connections that they are willing to share with their "old friends from school".

  3. Step 3

I recently attended an elementary school reunion and not only had the time of my life, but also walked away with valuable "new" friendships and connections that are priceless. So before you make up your mind that you don't need to see people from your past, remember these people who were once childhood friends or enemies have grown up to be very valuable assets that may be willing to help you in your future success.

Tips & Warnings
  • Contact your old school friends on Facebook, myspace, etc...
  • Ask for business cards, work and cell phone numbers, and the best way to continue to keep in touch.
  • Have an interest in their lives now, ex: ask about family, hobbies, etc.. before diving into the "what can you do for me" mode.
