It can sometimes be difficult to keep up with the latest fashions whilst been grugal and green. Recycling and restyling second hand clothes is a great way to follow your favourite fashions. You can use your own old clothes or buy second hand clothes and have fun customising and refashioning it for a stylish, trendy and individual outfit that no one else will have.

Greek goddess style dressses are a very flattering and stylish trend. Many different dresses can be given a new lease of life by changing into a one shouldered dress.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • an old dress
  • an old scarf
  • scissors
  • needle/ sewing machine
  • thread
  1. Step 1

    Try the dress on and decide where to cut the shoulder of the dress off on one side.

  2. Step 2

    Mark where you want to cut with tailors chalk or pins. Allow a bit of extra for finishing the neckline.

  3. Step 3

    cut the shoulder as marked by chalk or pins.

  4. Step 4

    Finish the neckline in a similar way to the existing finish on the neckline and sleeves.

  5. Step 5

    Sew the scarf along the neckline, gathering a little to give a ruffled effect.

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose a contrasting coloured scarf for a really eye catching dress
  • If you do do not have a suitable dress, try swapping one or buying second hand
  • Be sure to mark out where to cut the dress carefully before cutting
