      Sweet potato vine node

With scissors cut the sweet potato vine slightly below the node.
The node is the bump in the vine, where the leaves grow from. Notice right below the node you will see or feel a few (to several) small bumps. The roots will also be growing from those small bumps. So, try and cut just below the small bumps.

Don't worry too much about accuracy. You can cut half way between two nodes if you are unsure.

    • 3

Remove any leaves on or around the node.

    • 4

Place the vine in your glass of water. If there are leaves remaining on the vine, make sure no leaves are submerged in the water.
