How to decorate for an Easter Rehearsal Dinner

Use an Easter theme to brighten up decorations for a Spring time wedding rehearsal dinner. It is an inexpensive way to decorate as you can use many of the decorations you already have. Making the centerpieces yourself is also economical.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • White table cloths
  • Greenery
  • Easter baskets (1 per table arrangement needed)
  • Stems or bunches of greenery
  • Floral styrofoam
  • 7 yellow roses per arrangement
  • Colorful ribbon (1 1/2 in wide)
  • Curling ribbon
  • Candles (2 per table)
  • Place cards
  • Cloth craft bags (1 per child)
  • Letters and stickers to decorate bags
  • Small toys and candy to fill bags
  • Easter grass, various colors
  • Easter rabbits, wreaths and other decorations
  • Colored napkins (large and small in Easter colors)
  • Colored cups in large and small to match napkins
  • Plastic Easter eggs
  • Large and small chocolate Easter rabbits on sticks
  1. Step 1

    Place white tablecloths on each table. You can use cloth or the paper tablecloths with the plastic backing.

    Make centerpieces for each table. Use an Easter basket that has a small base with a high rounded handle. Place a piece of floral styrofoam in the base of the basket. Be sure it is large enough to fit snuggly. Insert a stem or bunch of greenery in center of styrofoam. Spread out the leaves. Insert one yellow rose in the center of the styrofoam and make sure it fits right under the handle of the basket. Insert 3 yellow roses on either side of the basket at different angles. Wrap the colored 1 1/2 in. ribbon around base and tack down to the basket. You can add touches of curling ribbon if you would like. Place on a gold charger plate and place a circle of greenery around the basket. if the table is not wide enough for the charger plate and a place setting on either side, just use the greenery.

    Place lengths of greenery on each side of centerpiece. Drape with colored curling ribbon for color. Place a candle on each side as well.

    Place cards were printed out on the computer and placed at each seat. There was a table for the bridal party, a table for parents and grandparents, a teen table and a children's table.

    The children's table centerpiece is also made out of an Easter basket. Floral styrofoam is placed in the base and covered with Easter grass. Large chocolate rabbits on sticks were inserted into the styrofoam and small chocolate rabbits were placed in between as fillers. There was one large and one small rabbit for each child in attendance. Top off the handle with a large purple bow.

    Place cards for the children's tables were made out of cloth craft bags. Letters and stickers were used to spell out their names and to decorate. Activity books, crayons, slinkies and candy were placed in the bags to entertain the children.

    Decorate mantles and accent tables. Use Easter grass as a base or filler. Place rabbits, baskets, wreaths, etc. to accent.

    Placed Easter colored hand towels in the bathrooms as an accent.

    Place large colored napkins at the food and dessert tables and the small colored napkins at the drink table. Use the napkins in baskets for nuts, mints and breads to carry out your color theme. Add matching colored cups at the drinks table as well.

Tips & Warnings
  • Shop at your local hobby shop and buy baskets, greenery and roses at half price.
