Things You'll Need:
- any soup
- corn starch
- milk or water
-
Step 1
Heat up some soup. It can be any soup. It can be homemade soup or canned soup. It can be one serving of soup or it can be a pot of soup. You just have to heat it on the stove in a pot... not the microwave.
-
Step 2
For one serving of soup: Pour about 1/4 cup of milk (or water) into a small bowl or cup. Add about 1 tablespoon of cornstarch to the milk and stir until the cornstarch is not lumpy. Now just add this milk and cornstarch mixture to your soup and stir while adding it. Simmer the soup for a few minutes and stir often. Your soup will now be thickened and it will be like stew!
-
Step 3
For a big pot of soup: You may need about 1/2 cup of milk and 4 tablespoons of cornstarch. Add to soup as directed in step 2. If it's not thick enough just add more milk and cornstarch mixture.
-
Step 4
Thickening your own soup turns an average bowl of broth into something special and yummy! Save money by skipping the "chunky soups" and buying the cheap store band soups and thickening them yourself! You can thicken cream soups too! It turns cream soup into chowder!
