Weight loss body wraps have become a popular fad, but for good reason. While many people debate their effectiveness in helping shed pounds, their healing benefits cannot be denied. They improve circulation, clear skin problems, and ease muscle and joint pain. They are believed to help you lose inches in one sitting, but some claim this is only water weight, or toxins being removed from the system. However, you can easily make your own weight loss body wraps and try it for yourself. Remember that thousands of people have reported positive weight loss results after undergoing weight loss body wraps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 6 cups distilled or spring water
  • Large stock pot
  • ½ cup dried peppermint leaves
  • ½ cup dried chamomile flowers
  • Blender or food processor
  • 2 cups green clay
  • 1 cup sea salt
  • 1 cup kelp powder
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • ½ cup witch hazel extract
  • 2 teaspoons lavender essential oil
  • 2 teaspoons lemon essential oil
  • 2 tablespoons aloe vera gel
  • Old cotton sheet
  1. Step 1

Bring the distilled or spring water to a boil over medium-high heat in a large stock pot. Grind the dried peppermint and chamomile in a blender or food processor until they are a fine powder.

  2. Step 2

Add the powdered herbs to the boiling water and remove from heat. Add all other ingredients to the water/herb mixture and stir well to combine. Allow the mixture to cool for 10-15 minutes.

  3. Step 3

Cut an old cotton sheet into large strips. These will be used to apply the weight loss body wraps. Make them long enough to wrap around the problem areas of the body – such as thighs, tummy, and buttocks – but also small enough to handle.

  4. Step 4

Dip the cloth strips into the weight loss body wrap mixture, one by one, until they are thoroughly soaked. Wrap them around the areas of the body that need attention, making sure that the mixture stays warm. If it begins to cool, you may need to reheat.

  5. Step 5

Lie down and relax for a minimum of 60 minutes, to allow the weight loss body wraps enough time to work their magic. If you become chilled, wrap up in a blanket or turn up the heater. It’s important that you always stay warm while performing this treatment.

  6. Step 6

Remove the weight loss body wraps after at least an hour, and discard the cloth strips. Rinse the body in cool to lukewarm water in the shower, and marvel at your slimmed down body.

Tips & Warnings
  • Red clay can be substituted in weight loss body wraps for green clay, if you have dry skin. Fuller’s Earth may be used for oily skin.
  • Epsom salts can be substituted for sea salt, if necessary or desired.
  • You can wear undergarments, if you are having a friend help you apply the weight loss body wraps. Just make sure you don’t mind throwing them away afterward if the solution soaks them through.
  • If at any time you begin to feel overheated or dizzy while the weight loss body wraps are on your body, then remove them immediately and take a cool shower. However, this is a rare symptom and when the procedure is followed correctly, should not be experienced.
