Things You'll Need:
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup dish detergent
- 1/4 light corn syrup
- bowl or gallon jug (empty milk or water jug)
-
Step 1
Use a funnel or spouted measuring cup to carefully pour the water into the rinsed out jug. Or simply measure the water and pour it into a large bowl.
-
Step 2
Use a funnel or spouted measuring cup to add the dish detergent to the jug. Or measure and pour into the bowl.
-
Step 3
Use a funnel or spouted measuring cup to add the light corn syrup to the jug. Or measure and pour into the bowl. The corn syrup makes the bubble liquid thicker and stronger allowing it to make larger bubbles.
-
Step 4
Place the lid on the jug and tighten securely. Generously shake the jug to mix the ingredients. Or use a fork or whisk to thoroughly mix the bubble liquid ingredients.
-
Step 5
This bubble liquid works even better the day after it's made.
-
Step 6
Pour the bubble liquid into a shallow pan or tub so it is easier to dip the wands into the bubble liquid.
-
Step 7
Use store bought wands or look for household items with holes, such as a flyswatter, slotted spoon, thick rubber band, or cookie cutters.
You can also make your own wands from pipe cleaners by bending one end of the pipe cleaner into a loop.

on 4/20/2009 Seems like a tradition in our family to break out the bubbles at the first sign of Spring. Never made our own though and have never seen a recipe with corn syrup. Interesting. Will have to give this a try! Thanks!
