It is easy to cook great baby back ribs in the oven. With this recipe, the meat will literally fall off the bone because it is so tender. The secret is not just the sauce, but also the method. Slow braising in a low-heat oven makes for a long cooking time. This means that the sauce marinates as it cooks into the meat and meat tenderizes in the oven. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 4-6 pounds of baby back ribs
  • Foil
  • 3 Tbsp. garlic salt
  • 1 Tbsp. pepper
  • 1/2 stick of butter
  • 3 bay leaves
  • Barbecue sauce
  • 6 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • Small bowl
  • Baking dish

Instructions

    • 1

      Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.

      Rub each side of the ribs with the softened butter. Soften the butter in the microwave in 10 second increments if it's straight from the refrigerator.

      Mix the garlic, salt and pepper together in a small bowl. Sprinkle on the ribs. Place the bay leaves on top of the ribs.

      Put the baby back ribs on foil, folding the foil and crimping three edges to make a bag. Add the Worcestershire sauce into the bag.

      Seal the bag by crimping the fourth edge. Tear a hole near the top of the bag to allow venting. Place the ribs in a baking dish.

      Cook the baby back ribs for 2 1/2 hours.

      Remove the ribs from the oven, open the bag and add your favorite barbecue sauce. Re-crimp the edges of the bag. Cook the baby back ribs in the oven for one more hour.

      Remove the oven, open the bag carefully to avoid the steam and serve immediately.
