This is a short guide to cooking steaks on skillet indoors.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A unfrozen steak
  • Your preference of spices
  • Fork and knife
  • vegetable oil.
  1. Step 1

Properly defrost your steak do not use the microwave if you can help it. Take it out early in the day and leave it some where safe to defrost at room temp. (from cats or kids)

  2. Step 2

Begin seasoning the steak with what ever you like. Salt and pepper are good basis if you are still a rookie chef. Apply liberally on both sides of the steak and let sit for a while. Ten to fifteen minutes will do fine.

  3. Step 3

Prepare your skillet with a little bit of vegetable oil not to much. Use your reasoning for the size of steak and skillet. Spread the oil around with a coffer filter. (don't want to use napkins because it absorbs the oil.)

  4. Step 4

Now throw that steak on and get to cooking. Depending on the size of your steak tells you how much to watch it. When you start to see a pinkish/reddish liquid bubble from under and on the steak its time to flip it. If everything is done right the side should look slightly golden hue to it with spots of black crust (spices).

  5. Step 5

After a few minutes check the steak to see if its right for you.Cut multiple places to check and make sure that it is consistently right for you. The pinker the steak the easier it is to get just right without burning the outside. Now cutting the steak will usually make a little less delectable that usually but for beginners it is advised until you learn to judge the timing just right.

  6. Step 6

Cooking is a art and takes practice. Never stray from your cut of meat for to long and watch it cook. After some practice you'll have your perfect steak down pat. Sit down eat and enjoy!
