Step 1
There are many factors to consider when choosing a hockey camp.
Cost? How much does the camp cost? How much ice time is there? How long is the camp? Is it residential or commuter? These are essential. Also, you should find out what the ratio is on the ice (players to coaches). Is there off ice training as well? How do they separate the players by age? by skill? are the groups of a large age range? -
Step 2
Quality. Are the coaches certified and have extensive experience? Recommendations from teammates are often good for this. How many older coaches are there? How many younger coaches (current players) are there? What sort of skills are taught? Will they focus on skating or stick handling or overall a broad arrangement of skills?

Step 3
Fun. Does the camp sound like fun? A good way to scout a camp is to see it the year prior. Watching a day or even just the ice time of camp can give you a good view of the players and the environment. People will also write reviews and testimonials about the camp that could hint to you whether it's a work hard play hard camp, or more of a strict camp/ fun camp.
