How to Get A Jet Ski License In NJ
The state of New Jersey requires a license for those who plan to operate a jet ski. The license fee is minimal, $18 as of this publication, but getting the license requires some preparation and time. The jet ski license is for use in fresh water not affected by tides. It includes teenagers as well as adults. If you plan to purchase a jet ski this season, plan ahead to ensure you enjoy your time on the water with a proper license.

Pass a boat safety test. If the license is for a teenager, you must be 17 years old. If you are under 17, you need a parent's written consent to apply for the license. You must schedule your boat safety test before applying for the license.

Go to the motor vehicle agency. Bring the certification that you passed the boat safety test and your picture identification, as well as the required fee.

Present the boat safety test information and pay the fee by cash, check, money order or credit card.
