Learn Sports Betting

Sports betting is a huge business in the United States, even though it is legal in just one state, Nevada. Regardless millions of people enjoy placing a bet or two while in Vegas. The problem is most of them really have no idea what they are doing.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Learn how the business works. The casinos run sports betting by making a commission on each bet place. It works like this; to win 100 dollars the better must bet 110 dollars, the casinos are guaranteed a profit of 10 dollars win or lose. As for online sports betting, the legal fight continues over it being legal or illegal.

  2. Step 2

Anyone placing a bet should know what the sports betting lines or odds are. It works this way. Each game has a line, this means Vegas is saying team A will beat team B by a certain amount of points or runs. The better than must decide which team to take depending if they see the sports line being too high. If the line says team A by six points and team A wins by six or more those betting on that team win. If A does not win by six points anyone betting on them is a loser. On the flip side those that took team B win if team B wins or keeps the deficit under six points.

  3. Step 3

Bet the winner straight out. This is pretty simple, the better places a bet on a team to win, with no point spread period.

  4. Step 4

Work the parlay bet. This is a combination of games using point spread, straight up bet or what is called the over and under. The over and under is betting on the amount of points or runs scored by the two teams combined. A parlay has a greater payout and cost less to play, but is extremely difficult to win.
