How to Plan a Get to Know Your Neighbors Ice Cream Social
More and more people are choosing stay-cations over vacations. That doesn't mean you can't have fun. This summer why not plan a fun activity for the whole neighborhood. An Ice Cream Social is a great way to get to know those neighbors that you wave to when you are out walking but haven't yet become acquainted with! Does this Spark an idea?

This is a little too much work for just one family. You probably have one or two neighbors that you know fairly well who would be willing to partake in the planning of your Ice Cream Social. Ask one neighbor to make out the invitations and place them in everyone's paper box (not mailboxes, as that is illegal), another to provide the fruit toppings. On the invitations, ask everyone to bring a topping (pot luck style). You will end up with a nice variety of syrups, nuts, candies, etc.

Buy a gallon of both vanilla and chocolate ice cream, whipped topping, whatever else you like on ice cream that others may not think to bring. Chances are that a next-door neighbor, with the help of a couple strong guys:) can carry over an extra picnic table if needed. Cover the picnic tables with red and white plastic tablecloths, and be ready to mingle!

This is a great idea! Ice-cream socials work for getting to know new co-workers, new church members, new classmates, or anywhere else you might have someone new. It's a great ice-breaker. 5* -
