Things You'll Need:
- silk tie
- a little TLC
-
Step 1
There isn't a necessary order to care for your new silk tie. For starters, make sure that after the tie is worn, or at the end of the day, the tie is hanging on a coat hanger, draped over (like a pair of pants) and without any knots or creases. If you are traveling, fold the tie into quarters, and then slip it under the lapel of the suit/in the pocket.

Step 2
We all know our ties get wrinkled at some point. A great way to care for the wrinkles is to use a small hand steamer (can easily be found at department stores). Do not dry clean your tie- chances are, the tie will be completely flat- meaning no edges.

Step 3
If you do indeed accidentally splash soup on your tie, or anything else for that matter, don't fret. Take a napkin, and with a little bubbly water, tonic water, club soda dab the spot gently. After it dries, try and brush the rest off with a towel.
