Furniture can be very expensive. Whether you're buying furniture for your home or for an office, you have a big or small budget, there are always savings to be had if you purchase used furniture.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Support your local small businesses that sell gently used furniture. You'd be shocked at some of the designer furniture that can be purchased at a fraction of the retail price. Privately owned furniture stores get their products from estate sales and

  2. Step 2

Purchase furniture from model home clearance centers. These centers offer huge discounts on furniture that was featured in model homes. Designers also use these centers to rent furniture when they stage a home for sale or for designer furniture at a discount.

Look through ads in newspapers and sites such as Craig's list between Wednesday and Friday to see the estate sales that will happen on the weekends in your area. If you are interested in one and there are no pictures then you have time to email them and request some pictures. This way you won't waste time going to an estate sale where there is nothing of interest to you. You can also see the listings of furniture for sale.

  4. Step 4
