Things You'll Need:
- slow growing plants
- large planters
- pot soil
- ornaments
-
Step 1
Before making dish gardens, read more information about dish gardening. There are tons of resources in the Internet, magazines and libraries. Look for pictures and begin to plan how your dish garden looks like.
-
Step 2
Choose planters with proper drainage. I prefer large planters.
-
Step 3
Choose slow growing plants so that you will not replace it too often. Shop, ask from your close friends and neighbors or go camping or hiking and find some plants you like. It is up to you.
-
Step 4
Use potting soil or any soil you that have tried when you do your regular planting. Add soil to the planters.
-
Step 5
Put plants on the planters by following your desired designs. Be creative. Add ornaments.

on 6/27/2009 Thank you so much for this article. Dish gardens also make great gifts for those who love to garden but no longer have the space. (Such as people in a nursing home)
