How to Go Green and Save Money and the Planet

Things You'll Need:

  • Tennis Balls
  • Water
  • Nylon shower curtain
  • phosphate free laundry detergent
  • Pressure gauge
  1. Step 1

    1. Clean your coils on your refrigerator. Read the manual where the coils are. Should be done at least every 6 months. If they get too much dust will make a compressor overload and possibly have to replace. Vacuum or wipe down.

  2. Step 2

    2. Install a programmable thermostat. Keeping the temperature at the same level instead of trying to lower the house after it is hot will add extra energy to lower.

  3. Step 3

    3.Test your tap water. Sometimes the tap water is exactly the same as bottled water. Saves money and plastic.

  4. Step 4

    4. Put tennis balls in your dryer. Keeps the clothes from sticking to the sides and drys faster. Better yet, put some shirts or clothes on hangars and air dry and throw in dryer for a quick set. Remove lint every time you open the dryer.

    5. Clean out the junk in your trunk. If you drive around with your gold clubs or junk it cuts on your gas mileage. Also might want to remove the roof rack - cuts down on drag.

  6. Step 6

    Remove your plastic shower curtain. You may be brathing bad fumes. Replace with a nylon shower curtain.

  7. Step 7

    Always unplug your cell phone charges when you take your phone out of the chargers.

Tips & Warnings
  • Turn off your computer at the end of the day.
  • Use phosphate free laundry detergent.
  • Go around your living quarters and make an assessment.
