Things You'll Need:
- None.

Step 1
First, you need to reduce the amount of laundry you generate. Think about everything that you put in the laundry. For example, do you use a towel once to dry yourself and then put it in the laundry? You may want to reconsider - how dirty could the towel be after one use?
-
Step 2
Another way to reduce the amount of laundry is to wear clothes more than once if they don't get dirty. When we first had our child, we put everything she wore in the laundry after one wearing. However, we always wore items more than once ourselves if they weren't dirty. My husband pointed out that we should do the same for our child. This significantly reduced the amount of laundry we generated.

Step 3
Once you've reduced the amount of laundry you generate, think about how to make sorting easier. We keep our younger daughters' laundry separated from our older daughters' laundry so we don't confuse whose clothes are whose (they're only one size apart). To do this, we put our older daughters' laundry in the laundry room with ours, and keep a laundry basket in our younger daughters' closet for their laundry.

Step 4
Watch out for those sneaky socks!! The first thing to do to make sock sorting easier is to buy lots of the same type of sock. That way, if you lose one, you still have other matches. It also makes it easier to match socks up after they're clean if you only have a couple of types of socks.
-
Step 5
Another thing to make sock sorting easier is to put socks in a lingerie bag before you launder them. That way, they won't be able to sneak off! We also use this to separate different family members' socks to make sorting easier.
I hope this article helps you to reduce how much time you spend doing laundry.
