No matter what the economy is doing, everyone likes to save money—specially on vacation. Those who travel to Las Vegas can find some awesome hotel deals. Here are some ways to get the best hotel rate in Las Vegas.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access Pen Paper
  1. Step 1

Connect to the Internet using your computer. Make sure you know what dates you want to visit Las Vegas.

  2. Step 2

Price hotels on the following websites: Travelocity, Expedia, Hotels.com and Orbitz. Write down the lowest rates that you find on each site.

  3. Step 3

Visit Hotwire and PriceLine and price hotels using those sites. You will not know what hotel you would be staying at if you used these sites, but you might get a better rate. Write down the lowest rates you find.

  4. Step 4

Call a travel agent and ask if he books hotels in Las Vegas.

  5. Step 5

Let the travel agent know that you already looked online, and you would like to know if she can beat the prices you found. Good travel agents will be able to undercut the websites by cutting into their own commission.

  6. Step 6

Tell the travel agent the rates you found online. If he asks for your phone number or email address, let him know that you are only interested in traveling during the time that you requested, and you do not wish to receive any unsolicited emails or phone calls. If he agrees, then give him your contact information.

  7. Step 7

Once the travel agent tells you what the rate she can get you, book immediately either through the agent or on the website where you found the lowest rate (whichever rate is lower). Hotel rates fluctuate on a daily basis, so make sure to lock in the low rate that you found.

Tips & Warnings
  • Contrary to popular belief, it is better to book Las Vegas hotels well in advance of your trip. Hotel rates can double overnight. If you are flying to Las Vegas, try to get a package with your airfare. You will find that rates are a lot less. You can find these packages directly through the airlines, as well as through travel agents and online.
  • Don't wait too long to book a rate, because it might disappear overnight. Holidays usually mean more expensive rates. Be careful of blackout dates. The more flexible your dates are, the better.
