Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Go to your local nursery or store that sells seeds and potting soil. Pick out a few herb seeds, such as basil, dill, etc. as well as some potting soil. Also, find a small pot to plant them in or a window box that will fit in or near your window. The container should be a couple inches deep.

  2. Step 2

Fill the container with the potting soil, and plant the seeds about half an inch deep into the soil. Lightly water with a spray bottle, so the soil and seeds are only misted with water. Place the container near the window, so it gets sun during the day.

  3. Step 3

Cover the top of the container with plastic wrap to help keep the seeds from drying out. The herbs will begin to sprout about one to two weeks later, keep the plastic wrap on until then, once they do start to grow, take the wrap off. You can start watering them very lightly with a mist of water when the soil feels dry.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not over water your herbs, it can hurt them.
  • Look at the instructions on the seed packages, to determine how much sunlight the plants like to get.
