Dandruff is an unpleasant, but treatable condition

Dandruff is an embarrassing and somewhat difficult condition to treat. But there are natural cures for dandruff that can help you say goodbye to your flaky scalp for good. Try any or all of the following home remedies to treat dandruff.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Avoid commercial shampoos, which can be harsh. Instead, you can use one tablespoon of baking soda mixed with a cup of water to clean your hair.

  2. Step 2

Try rinsing your hair with apple cider vinegar diluted in water. This treatment has been known to cure dandruff. One tablespoon of vinegar per cup of water should do it.

  3. Step 3

Wash your hair with baby shampoo rather than regular shampoo. Baby shampoo is milder and may prevent dandruff.

  4. Step 4

Don't wash your hair every day, especially if you use commercial shampoos. Commercial shampoo is harsh and strips hair of natural oils. Shampooing every other day or even just twice a week is better for your hair and scalp.

  5. Step 5

Try rinsing with lime juice. It will not only make your hair shiny, but can also get rid of dandruff.

  6. Step 6

Try using fenugreek seeds. This natural remedy for dandruff is simple. All you need to do is soak a tablespoon or two of fenugreek seeds for a few hours. Grind the seeds into a paste and apply to your scalp. Rinse off after half an hour.

  7. Step 7

Look at your diet. Are you getting enough Vitamin C and Vitamin A? If not, consider taking a supplement. These Vitamins are important for healthy skin.

  8. Step 8

Avoid processed and refined foods. This includes white flour and sugar.

  9. Step 9

Drink more water. Hydrating your body will help your skin heal itself.

  10. Step 10

Try eating a raw diet including uncooked vegetables, fruits, grains, and nuts.

Tips & Warnings
  • Give your remedy time to work. Some of the above steps may take from two weeks to a month to yield results.
  • You should seek the advice of a doctor or dermatologist if your dandruff is severe.
