How to Track a Package Mailed Parcel Post
The U.S. Postal Service makes it easy to track packages, including those mailed parcel post. Its web-based tracking system is easy to use and will let you know the status of your package in seconds. However, you will need to pay a little extra for this tracking service at the time you mail your package, so plan ahead if you want the ability to track your parcel post packages.

Take your sealed and addressed package to your nearest post office. If you need help finding the closest post office, use the Services Locator tool on the U.S. Postal Service website.

Fill out Postal Service Form 152. The form is green and labeled "Delivery Confirmation." It is usually available with the other postal forms at the counter in the post office.

Take your package and the completed form to the next available postal agent. Request that your package by mailed parcel post with a delivery confirmation. You will have to pay an extra fee for the delivery confirmation service, which ranges from 70 to 80 cents as of April 2010. Visit the Postal Service website for current fees.

Get the receipt and tracking number from the postal agent. Save this number because you will need it to track your package.

Visit the Postal Service website; on the right side, enter your tracking number under "Track & Confirm" and click "Go." The next page will tell you if your package is still in transit. If it has been delivered, it will tell you the date and time the package was delivered.

Tips & Warnings
The time it takes for your parcel post package to reach its destination depends on where it was mailed from and where it is going. The postal agent should give you an estimated delivery time at the post office. If your package has not been delivered after this time has passed, call the Postal Service at 800-275-8777.
Delivery confirmation is not available for parcel post packages shipped internationally.
