How to Make Rap Music Online

Rap music is fun to experiment with and enjoy. It seems that everyone has a little desire to compose their own beats or record their own rhymes. If you want to make rap music, but have little experience or resources, consider making the music online.

Instructions

1. Visit soundclick.com and view its library of instrumental beats available for download. Some beats are free of charge, while other producers charge a fee for commercial use. Make sure you consult the owner of the beat before using it commercially.

2. Download Audacity, a free audio software program (see Resources). The software allows you to mix and master the beat and to record your vocals at a later time. Audacity offers many features, including sound effects, mixing tools and even a recording database.

3. Record the vocals with your computer's built-in microphone or purchase a microphone that connects to your computer. The vocals will record directly into Audacity. Use Audacity's tools to add effects (such as echo) on the track or clean up the recording (by removing ambient noise).

4. Once you finish mixing the rap song, export the file as an MP3. Then, share your music online through one of the many websites that host MP3 files. MySpace is a popular place to share your own music using a personal fan page.
