HughesNet provides users with high-speed Internet by satellite. High-speed cable Internet isn't available everywhere. HughesNet allows users to have high-speed Internet even if cable isn't available. HughesNet is compatible on Windows and Macintosh, and available throughout the United States. The connection is always on without the need to dial in first. The connection is dedicated to your computer, so your phone line is free. Installation takes only a few hours from start to finish.

Instructions

1. Call or visit HughesNet to choose your plan and place an order for the service and installation. Contact HughesNet by phone at [phone] or online at HughesNet.com.

2. Click the "Home" tab to view and order home services if ordering online. Ask for home plans if you speak to a customer service representative.

3. Click "View Pricing and Order" to view plans. Ask a customer service representative to explain each option in detail. Explaining your Internet usage and needs will help the representative find the right plan for you.

4. Choose a plan and payment option, and press "Submit Order" to place your order. A customer service representative will do this for you automatically once you've chosen a plan.

5. Schedule an installation time when the service technician calls you. If ordering by phone, a customer service representative will schedule an installation time for you then.

6. Allow the service technician to install and activate your service.

Tips & Warnings

• You only pay for your service and installation once it's been installed and activated. You will need to be home to allow the technician inside during installation. If you aren't available, ask a friend or family member to be around during the installation.

• Be sure to choose a plan that fits your needs. If you don't need the fastest speed available, don't purchase it just because it's available. You can save hundreds of dollars a year by purchasing the correct plan for you.
