A computer virus is a type of program created to damage your computer. Viruses range in severity from common adware and spyware all the way up to worms and Trojan horse viruses. It is easy to become infected with a computer virus, even if you have all of the up-to-date virus protection programs. It is important to remove the NetWorm computer virus as soon as your computer contracts it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Turn off your computer and restart it in Safe Mode. To do so, press F8 when the computer first begins to load to get to the options list, from which you select the "Safe Mode" option. This stops the virus from causing any further damage while you attempt to remove it.

  2. Step 2

Press the "Start" button in the bottom-left corner of the desktop and select "Search" from the menu that opens.

  3. Step 3

Click "All Files and Folders" and search for the virus by typing "NetWorm" into the "All or Part of the File Name" box. Press "Search."

  4. Step 4

Right-click and delete any file that appears in the search results list. Search your entire computer for possible virus files.

  5. Step 5

Restart your computer, and the virus will be gone.
