1
Pick out two wooden picture frames of the same size. These will form the body of your jewelry case. Take out the cardboard backing from each frame and set it aside for later. Thoroughly clean the glass. Use epoxy to glue the glass to the wooden frames. Make sure to follow the instructions on the bottle of epoxy. Let it dry completely.
-
2
Put the frames on top of one another with the glass on the top and bottom. Measure about 3 inches from each side of the wooden frame and mark it. Repeat this for the top frame.

Attach two hinges to the bottom frame with screws. Place the other frame on top and make sure the two frames fit flush. Screw the hinges to the frame. Do this by marking where the screws will be inserted before screwing them in. You can drill pilot holes to make this easier.

Find the center of your case. This is where you'll put your lock. Use a ruler to measure the edge opposite the hinges. Mark this spot. The lock will have a key. Use the key to lock and unlock the lock pad before you attach it to your box. Follow the instructions that come with the lock and install it to the frames. Be sure it lines up and latches when you close it.

5
Make the insert for the inside of your case. Using the cardboard that came with the frames, cut one piece to fit the bottom of your jewelry case. Take the cotton batting and cut it to fit the cardboard. Glue them together.
-
6
Wrap your material around the cardboard like a present and glue it in place. Make sure the batting is on top.
-
7
Add a security device, such as an alarm. This will protect the case from thieves. One security device may come with an alarm that will sound off if someone tries to open the case. This will alert you immediately of a burglary.

Tips & Warnings
You may want to use a silk material or velvet for the inside of your case. Any soft material is good. You may want to add color to your case, which you can do with colored frames.
Don't let anyone know about your security device other than your spouse and the police. Store your case in a safe place in your house.
