How to Make Arrows in InDesign

Adobe InDesign is a powerful desktop publishing application. It has many options for drawing lines on a page, and it has many options for putting arrows at the end of those lines. This feature makes manually creating arrows, which can be a frustrating process, unnecessary.

Instructions

    • 1

Start Adobe InDesign and open or create a new document.

    • 2

Select "Window" > "Stroke" or hit F10 on the keyboard to open the Stroke Palette.

    • 3

Select an arrowhead type from the "Start" drop-down menu in the Stroke Palette. This creates an arrowhead where the line starts.

    • 4

Select an arrowhead type from the "End" drop-down menu in the Stroke Palette. This creates an arrowhead where the line ends.

    • 5

Select the "Line" tool in the toolbar and draw an arrow by clicking and dragging the cursor on the open document.
