How to Make Strawberry Long Island Iced Tea
Guessing the ingredients in a strawberry Long Island iced tea isn't as easy as it might seem. Iced tea isn't on the list, even though many people say the drink tastes like iced tea. Long Island iced teas are built up of clear liquors, with just a splash of another liquor or drink mixed in to give the drink the color of iced tea. Strawberry Long Island iced teas don't just look like they might have strawberry added to them, though--they actually taste like strawberries, which is why many people find them so delicious. Things You'll Need
- Ice cubes
- Shaker
- Measuring jigger
- 1/2 oz. rum
- 1/2 oz. vodka
- 1/2 oz. gin
- 1/2 oz. tequila
- 1 1/2 oz. sweet and sour mix or lemon juice with 1 tbsp. sugar
- Highball glass
- 1 oz. strawberry daiquiri mix, strawberry schnapps or crushed strawberries

Fill your shaker with ice cubes.

Use your measuring jigger to measure your liquids as you pour them into your shaker. Measure and pour the rum, vodka, gin and tequila into the shaker. Then add the sweet and sour mix, or the lemon juice with 1 tbsp. of sugar. Put the top on your shaker and shake it briskly, but briefly. One brisk shake should be enough.

Fill your highball glass halfway with ice cubes.

Strain the contents of the shaker into the highball glass.

Add the crushed strawberries, strawberry schnapps or the strawberry daiquiri mix on top of the mix. Stir the drink briefly to distribute the strawberry color throughout the drink, making sure there is just a touch of color all the way to the bottom of the glass. Serve the drink with a straw.

Tips & Warnings
Replace the strawberry flavors with any variety of fruit flavors, from cranberry to apple. For a traditional Long Island iced tea, replace the strawberry flavor with a splash of cola or your favorite whiskey.
