How to Add a Keyboard to a Dell Laptop

Laptop keyboards are small. It is often hard to type on a laptop directly. However, a full-size external keyboard fixes this problem. Installing an external keyboard is easy. You'll be typing quicker and more comfortably in no time.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dell laptop with USB port
  • External keyboard that is capable of USB plug and play
  1. Step 1

    Update your Windows operating system before installing new equipment.

  2. Step 2

    Locate a USB port on your Dell laptop. Ports are generally on the sides or the back.

  3. Step 3

    Plug the keyboard's USB connector into laptop's USB port.

  4. Step 4

    Follow prompts that may pop up when the hardware is installing. You'll be good to go with your keyboard.
