Things You'll Need:
- 14-inch-by-14-inch pillow
- 3/4 yard fabric
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
- Thread
- Pins
- Iron
-
Step 1
Measure and cut two squares of fabric, 15 inches by 15 inches. This includes a 1/2-inch seam allowance and 1/2 inch for expansion for when your child is sitting on the booster pillow.
-
Step 2
Measure and cut four ties, 2 inches by 20 inches. Fold each tie in half lengthwise, with the wrong side of the fabric showing. Stitch along two sides, leaving one end open to turn the tie right-side out. Press with an iron after you have pulled the tie right-side out.
-
Step 3
With the right side of one 15-by-15 inch panel facing up, place two ties 3 inches from the edge of the panel. The ties will be laying on top of the panel. Take the other two ties and place them 3 inches from the edge on the opposite edge of the panel. Pin the ties and stitch. Lay the second 15-inch-by-15-inch panel on top so that the right side is facing the right side of the first panel. Pin three sides of the booster panel and stitch. Turn the fabric right-side out.
-
Step 4
Turn a 1/2-inch seam under and press. You can now insert the pillow into the opening. Use a firm pillow. Finish sewing up the seam.
-
Step 5
Tie the booster pillow to the back of a chair.
