1
Purchase empty spice bottles from a discount or home store. You may purchase spice bottles that come with a spinning spice rack or purchase individual spice bottles.
-
2
Spread a layer or two of old newspaper over a picnic table or your kitchen table to protect it.
-
-
3
Gather all the nuts and bolts you have. Check your garage, cupboards, drawers, basement, and other work areas to make sure you have them all. Lay these on the newspaper.
-
4
Sort the nuts and bolts by type; one type will go in each spice container.
-
5
Label the lids of the containers clearly with a permanent marker. You can use simple names such as round bolt, square top bolt or other descriptive terms. If you want to go a step further, trace around the shape of the nut or bolt on the lid so you can see exactly what it is.
-
6
Place the spice bottles in the spinning spice rack if you purchased a spice rack when you bought the bottles. A spinning spice rack will make it easier to view the different nuts and bolts. If you did not purchase a spinning rack, place the spice bottles containing the nuts and bolts on a shelf where they are organized. The contents of each spice bottle should be easily viewed.
