Located in capital cities around the world, Canadian embassies act as a diplomatic presence between Canada and their host countries. Canadian embassies provide a full range of consular service to Canadian citizens traveling and living abroad. The embassies also offer information for non-Canadians who wish to visit, study or work in Canada.

The Canadian Embassy in the U.S. is located in Washington, DC. While the Canadian government operates over twenty diplomatic offices in America, the Canadian Embassy is the biggest and most important. Reasons for contacting the embassy may vary from travel inquiries to work visas to applying for citizenship.
