Insert the SIM card. Your Blackberry 8700 may already come with the SIM card already inserted into it. However, if it is not, simply turn off the device, remove the back cover, remove the battery and insert the SIM card. The notches on the SIM card should align with notches on the device. Make sure the metal contact is facing down and carefully push it in the slot. Put the battery back on and replace the back cover.

Charge the battery. Make sure to charge the battery before using. Plug the device into the adapter by inserting the smaller end of the USB to the device and the larger end to the power adapter, which you can plug into the wall socket. You may also charge the battery by inserting the bigger end of the USB cord to the USB hub of your computer instead of using the power adapter.
