How to Setup Yahoo Email in Outlook Express
Yahoo! is one of the most popular ways to send email online. But unless you upgrade to the paid service Yahoo! Mail Plus, your only option for viewing your email is on their website. If you choose to use a separate email client like Outlook Express, you have to install an application like YPOPs!

Download YPOPs! from SourceForge.net and follow the installation instructions. Open YPOPs! and leave it running.

Open Outlook Express. Go to the "Tools" menu and select "Accounts." Click the "Add" button on the upper right and select "Mail."

Choose a display name you would like to appear when people receive email from you. Type it in the "Display Name" box and click "Next."

Enter your Yahoo! email address in the "E-Mail Address" field. Click "Next."

Make sure "POP3" is selected in the drop-down menu. Enter "localhost" in the "Incoming mail" and "Outgoing mail" fields. Click "Next."

Enter your Yahoo! Mail username in the "Account name" field. Then enter your Yahoo! Mail password in the "Password" field. Click "Next."

Click "Finish."

Highlight "localhost", or 127.0.0.1 if you're using that, in the "Internet Accounts" window under the "Mail" tab. Click the "Properties" button on the right side.

Type Yahoo! Mail under "Mail Account." Click "OK" and then click "Close."

Tips & Warnings
If "localhost" doesn't work when you are setting up incoming and outgoing mail, use the IP address 127.0.0.1 in both fields instead.
Sometimes YPOPs! doesn't work properly with some Firewalls. Call your ISP or check your firewall instructions to troubleshoot.
Depending on your interpretation, using an application like YPOPs! may violate Yahoo!'s Terms of Service. Use it at your own risk, or pay the $20 a year for Yahoo! Mail Plus.
