How to Facet Gemstones
The process of faceting gemstones require three stable elements that should always be taken into consideration, which are height, angle and index. Height refers to the depth a facet is cut, helping to maintain constant rows, same sized, even depth facets. The plane or slant of a facet is determined when the angle is adjusted. Index gives the gemstone shape the right placement of facets around the outline. An understanding of these components first will set you up for a much simpler process. Does this Spark an idea?

Arrange the trigger grip into the numbered notch appropriate for the index wheel.

Tips & Warnings
Cover the mast height adjustment knob with something soft or padded to avoid chipping in case the gemstone rubs up against it. Keep the gemstone cool while it's being ground and polished by pouring drops of water over the grinding wheel.
If you take the dop or stone out of the machine frequently, it is more likely you will drop it, and it can also cause slight differentiations in the stone.
