Step 1
Select the URL you want to link to. Ideally, you will want to select a URL that contains some keywords that you want to rank high for. This URL will be placed on the page with a word or sentence that describes what it is.
-
Step 2
Select the best keywords that describe your link. Use a string of keywords or a sentence that best describes what the link is linking to.
-
Step 3
Create the HTML code for your link. You will need to embed the link using HTML, or a text editor that enables link placement. The HTML code for your link will look like this: <a href="http://www.yourURL.com>keywords describing the link</a>
-
Step 4
Embed the link in your page. You can use the code you used in Step 3 anywhere on the page. The best way to publish a back link is to weave it into an article, blog post or list of sites.
-
Step 5
Save your Web page. Save your work to enable the link. Your back link will now be "live."
-
Step 6
Test your link. Click on your back link to make sure it goes to the right page.
