How to Use Alaskan Air Miles

Signing up for an airline's frequent flier program is extremely easy, and usually free. Depending on the program, you can earn miles by traveling with participating airlines, or making general purchases. Redeeming frequent flier miles on Alaska Air is simple.

Instructions

1. Sign into your account on Alaska Air's website (see Resources). If you do not have an account, sign up for a free online account.

2. 
    

   Click on the "Mileage Plan" and "Award Reservation." Enter your destination, flight days, preferred travel time, number of travelers and type of seat. Click "Continue."

3. Select your flight. The amount of miles each flight costs is located above the "Select" button.

4. Click "Continue" to confirm your selection, and fill out the passenger information form.

Tips & Warnings

• If you prefer to redeem your miles over the phone, call 1-800-252-7522 (1-800-ALASKA-AIR). If you redeem your Alaska Air miles online, you can instant message a representative for help at anytime. You can transfer your frequent flier miles to another traveler. Consider donating your miles to charity.
