How to Decorate With Mums for a Fall Wedding

A wedding ceremony is not complete without flowers. For fall weddings, consider decorating with versatile mum flowers. They come in a variety of rich autumn shades, such as red, yellow and orange, as well as several different blossom shapes. Use mums alongside other types of flowers and materials for creating elaborate arrangements, or on their own as the accents that complete a decoration scheme.

• Mum wreaths
• Mum flowers
• Glass bowls
• Water
• Floating candles

• Crystalline quartz sand
• Super Glue

Instructions

1. Order mum wreaths from a florist to hang on the doors, for guests to see as they arrive at the venue.

2. Place mums into large glass bowls filled with water and floating candles to create an elegant table centerpiece.

3. Incorporate mums into flower arrangements. Use them as table centerpieces, or display them in tall vases to be placed on the floor all around the venue. If using artificial mums, fill transparent vases with colored crystalline quartz sand to support the flowers.

4. Place a mum above the plate of each table setting.

5. Cut off the stems and sprinkle mums around the altar, pews, cake table and reception table where escort cards are displayed.

6. Use a drop of Super Glue to attach an arrangement of different-colored mums to the cover of the guest book.

7. Trim each mum stem so only about 1 inch remains. Wrap ribbon in an autumn-themed color around the stem. Tie the ribbon around drinking glasses and champagne flutes.
