How to Cut Fruit Arrangements
Edible fruit arrangements are a creative substitution for traditional flower bouquets. They're visually appealing, and can also be eaten. Once you learn how to cut the fruit, you can make your own arrangements for a portion of the cost of flower bouquets. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Knife
- Cutting board
- Pineapple
- Flower cookie cutter
- Cantaloupe
- Melon baller
- Strawberries
- Skewers
- Styrofoam
- Flower pot or vase
- Grapes (optional)

Cut a pineapple into 6 horizontal slices 1/3 inch thick. Discard the top stem.

Lay the pineapple slices flat. Press firmly to cut out shapes with a flower cookie cutter.

Cut a cantaloupe in half and use a melon baller to scoop out 3 melon balls. Slice each melon ball in half.

Insert a skewer through the middle of each pineapple flower so that about 1/2 inch of skewer protrudes beyond the pineapple. Place a half melon ball through the top of the skewer on top of the pineapple flower.

Cut stems off five strawberries. Stick a skewer through each strawberry, starting at the stem side, so the bottom of the strawberry points up.

Cut a piece of Styrofoam so that it fits inside the bottom of your flower pot or vase. Stick the pineapple flower and strawberry skewers into the Styrofoam so they stand upright.

Tips & Warnings
Consider skewering grapes (approximately 10 per skewer) to fill in any sparse areas. Peel and cut leftover melon into chunks to skewer and add to your arrangement.
Never use bananas or apples for your fruit arrangement; they will turn brown and soft shortly after they're cut.
