Making a mouse out of a handkerchief is an old trick that has delighted both young and old for years. Learn how fast and simple it is to fold a handkerchief mouse from a standard handkerchief and then entertain the youngsters with this cute little friend.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 standard square handkerchief
  1. Step 1

Lay the handkerchief on a flat surface so that it is in a diamond shape. Fold the bottom handkerchief corner up to the top handkerchief corner to create a triangle.

  2. Step 2

Fold both side points of the triangle over to the center to create an envelope shape with the handkerchief.

  3. Step 3

Roll the bottom edge of the handkerchief up toward the top point. Stop when just the top of the point remains unrolled.

  4. Step 4

Flip the handkerchief over and fold each end of the rolled portion in toward the center, as shown.

  5. Step 5

Roll the triangle shape up from the bottom approximately 2 inches more and flip it over.

  6. Step 6

Fold in the ends of the triangle point as you continue to roll. Continue rolling the triangle into itself until the triangle points eventually poke back out again.

  7. Step 7

Pull the triangle points out and extend them from each side of the center of the mouse.

  8. Step 8

Open one of the triangle points into a diamond shape. Fold corner C in to create a triangle shape and then tie corners A and B into a knot so that the tails of the knot point up. The base of the knot will be the mouse's head, and the tails of corners A and B will be the ears of the mouse.

  9. Step 9

Leave the triangle point extending out of the other end of the mouse for the mouse's tail.
