Make a PayPal Account

PayPal is the most popular website used to pay for online orders securely without giving out a credit card number or personal information, or to receive secure payments for goods and services. A PayPal account can be connected to your personal bank account or credit card. Many online vendors now only accept payments through PayPal. Getting started with PayPal takes just a few minutes, and the account will be ready to use in a few days.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to PayPal and click "Sign Up" in the account log-in menu (see Resources).

    • 2

Choose your country and language. For a free account, choose "Personal" and click "Get Started."

    • 3

Create a username and password. Fill out your personal information and click "Agree and Create Account."

    • 4

Determine if you want to attach the account to your credit card or bank account, and click "Continue."

    • 5

Enter your bank or credit card information. With a valid credit card number, your account will be ready to use right away. If you are using a personal bank account, continue to Step 6.

    • 6

To verify your bank account, PayPal will make two small deposits into your account within a few days of signing up. Watch your bank statements for these deposits. When they arrive, go to your PayPal account and choose "Verify My Account" and enter the amounts deposited.
