How to Run a Stereo System Through a Computer
Hooking up your stereo through your computer is a great way to play your MP3s and digital music without any hassle. This setup is ideal for parties and even DJs. When you create a playlist on your computer, you don't need to change CDs to keep the music playing for hours.

Power off your stereo. If it is on when you plug in the cord, loud static will crackle from the speakers.

Locate the two input jacks on your stereo. They will be red and white. Plug the double end of the stereo-to-computer cord into these jacks by matching the colors.

Plug the other end of the cord into the the audio input jack of your computer. If you have a laptop, plug it into the head phone jack.

Select the Auxiliary or Video function on your stereo. Your computer will play out of this mode.

Tips & Warnings
Turn off your stereo before removing the adapter jack from the computer.
