How to Make a Turkey From a Brown Lunch Bag
If you are looking for an easy Thanksgiving or fall craft, making a turkey from a brown lunch sack is the one. It is made from materials that you probably already have around the house and is simple enough that even small children can make on their own. For large groups of children, you may want to supervise the gluing; other than that, you only have to demonstrate how it is done before the kids start coming up with their own twists on the design!
Things You'll Need
- Brown paper lunch bag
- Newspaper
- Construction paper: brown, orange, yellow, and red
- Crayons
- Glue

1
Trace your hand onto each of the colors of construction paper. Cut out.
-
2
Draw the turkey's head and neck onto brown construction paper and cut it out. Draw a triangle onto the orange paper and cut out to make the beak. Draw the waddle, a long thin oval, onto the red construction paper and cut that out.

3
Open the bag and then fold the top 3 inches of the bag into the inside of the bag. Stuff with crumpled newspaper to fill it out and then glue the bag closed so it stays puffed out.
-
4
Place the hand cutouts together and fan them out to make the turkey's tail. Glue in place onto the back of the bag, making sure the fingers jut out above the bag.
-
5
Glue the beak and waddle to the head of the turkey. The waddle goes under the beak. Draw the eyes onto the head using your crayons.
-
6
Glue the neck onto the top front of the bag, so that the head sits above the top of the bag. Use the turkey as a centerpiece or Thanksgiving decoration.
