Creating your own icons and shapes in Photoshop can be a big help if you want to create a unique look on your website and want to avoid using the standard free icons you can download. In this tutorial, you will learn how to make a paper scroll in Photoshop. Just follow the easy steps below.

Instructions

    • 1

Use the Rounded Rectangle tool to make a long rectangle as shown. Make sure it is set to "Shape layers," and select the style (sun faded photo image) and color shown.

    • 2

Go to the bottom of the "Layers" panel and click on "Blending Options" (or, in later versions, "FX"). Go to "Gradient" and select the "Copper" gradient. Click on the gradient, and edit its properties to produce the settings shown. Click "OK," and then change the "Opacity" to 100. Click "OK" again.

    • 3

Right click on the layer and select "Duplicate." Use the "Move" tool to drag this new layer down so as to form the bottom of the scroll.

    • 4

Create a new layer. Then use the "Pen" tool to draw out the paper connecting the two ends of the scroll. If you don't like where you put a point, you can undo the last point.

    • 5

Go to the "Layers" panel, select the top layer you just made and drag it below the other two.
