For safety reasons, the newer versions of Internet Explorer allow you to block unrated websites. Website ratings allow you to block some websites that include certain types of objectionable material. Some websites have no rating; to be safe, you can block all websites that are not rated.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Enable content advisor. Go to "Control Panel" and click "Internet Options." Select the "Content" tab and click "Enable." Enter a password and then re-enter it.

  2. Step 2

Set the ratings. Under the "Content" tab, go to the "Ratings" tab. There are several types of content listed. Click on each type, and then move the slider beneath to set the limits for each type of content.

  3. Step 3

Go back to the "Content" tab under "Internet Options." Click "Settings" and enter the password. Go to the "General" tab and make sure the "Users Can See Websites that Have No Ratings" box is unchecked. Click "OK" and exit.
