How to Remove a Miter Saw Blade

On both professional construction and home-based project sites, miter saws are great tools for making straight cuts quickly and efficiently. Miter saws can be used to cut almost any material such as metals, all types of wood, Hardie plank and plastics, as long as the right blade is used. Replacing a miter saw blade is an easy task.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Miter saw blade
  • Wrench
  1. Step 1

    Unplug the miter saw from the power outlet to ensure there are no false starts that could cause major injury. Test the saw to make sure you've unplugged the right power tool by squeezing the trigger a few times.

  2. Step 2

    Place the wrench around the bolt holding the miter saw blade in place. You can use either a regular wrench or a special wrench made for replacing saw blades.

  3. Step 3

    Press the blade lock button located alongside the engine housing. It will most likely be a little black button either in the front or the rear of the housing. Hold this down while turning the blade with the wrench. The button will sink all the way down once the blade is locked.

  4. Step 4

    Unscrew the bolt which holding the blade in place. The blade is now detached from the miter saw.
