How to Cut a Memory Foam Mattress

Cutting a memory foam mattress presents the same problems as cutting most types of foam. Compression of the foam while you are attempting to cut can cause cuts to not be straight. These steps will show you how to make accurate cuts in a memory foam mattress.

Things You'll Need:

• Marker
• Ruler
• Saw or utility knife

1. Mark the lines you will cutting directly on the memory foam mattress with the marker. Use the ruler to keep these lines straight.

2. Place the mattress down on a flat surface that you either do not mind being damaged or is protected.

3. Hold the mattress down with one hand and cut the mattress, using the saw, with the other. Apply minimal downward pressure and use a back and forth motion. Follow your drawn lines as you cut.
