How to Use the Warmer Box on a BBQ Smoker

Some people enjoy barbecuing just meat. Other people enjoy barbecuing an entire meal. In order to do this, a warmer box, which is used to heat food using the warm air from the smoker, is a helpful accessory. The warmer box is sometimes mistaken for the smoker box, which is the area where the coals and woodchips are placed. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Open the vent to the warmer box, if applicable. Some smokers have a permanent vent that won't close. You need to open the vent as soon as you light the charcoal and woodchips.

    • 2

Prepare your food. Some people like to wrap the items that will be placed in the warmer in aluminum foil. In most cases, this is optional. However, if you are warming tortillas, you should wrap them in a damp paper towel, then wrap them in foil.

    • 3

Place the items in the warmer. In general, vegetables will take longer to cook than breads will take to warm.

    • 4

Generally, you should check on the food every 15 to 30 minutes.

    • 5

Remove the food when it is thoroughly warmed. Cut into any food that poses a health risk if not cooked thoroughly to ensure it is fully cooked.
